Its wonderful to see a young and honest cricketers put up a good show in the 3rd division KSCA league match. What an experience for the coaches of the Cricket Academy to see these cricketers who have logged in lot of hard hours finally get an opportunity to play league matches and perform well.
Anand and Prasanna bowled very well to claim 3 wicket each. Sunil, Nirvan and Puneeth bowled very well to claim a wicket each with econimical figures. In batting Sunil Came good again with a good 27, Raghavendra scored 24 , Manoj 24 and Prasanna 31 no and Anand 19no. Over all it was a good victory and we are only getting better. Great work boys keep it going.
As the summer camp of 2016 draws to a close, it provides us with an opportunity to reflect on what has transpired over the past two months. I’ve said all along that the main components with a summer camp are learning, stimulation and fun. This doesn’t just hold true for summer camp but for any coaching program. I do believe we achieved these before mentioned objectives. Two months ago the winds of change swept through RXCA- RX Cricket Academy Bangalore, a new management, a new coaching staff and the unfortunate accident to RX himself. These were challenges of the highest order which left many wondering what the knock effect would be. For sure, there have been mishaps, miscommunications and misunderstandings along the way. No journey is ever smooth but the effort put in by all involved must be commended. We have come out the other end of the summer camp a stronger, more unified academy. This past week has provided me with the opportunity to watch and assess the work of the previous 6-7 weeks.
I write this report with a huge smile on my face and with immense pride. The improvement has been immense! Fielding (catching and ground fielding) was an area which required a huge amount of work, this aspect of the game has been tackled and I believe much of the fear surrounding fielding has dissipated as well as improving the skill level of our fielding. The other aspect which required addressing was the bowling. The better your bowlers bowl, the better preparation your batsmen get. This aspect of our game has slowly come right and our batsmen are now able to face better quality bowling which in turn allows them to become batsmen. Batting is a skill which requires many, many hours of dedication and specialised coaching- a summer camp doesn’t provide the perfect grounds to improve a batsmen’s talents but it does allow for feedback and identification of strengths and weaknesses. Are we better cricketers after the previous two months? Yes, no doubt in my mind. We are fitter, we are mentally stronger and we are technically better. Thank you to all the coaches, who were opening to learning and providing the energy on a daily basis to make the camp successful. Thank you to the parents for providing your children with the opportunity to be active, learn about the game of cricket, make new friends, learn to deal with setbacks and grow as individuals. Thank you to the management and ground staff for the behind the scenes work that goes on, the extra hours put in and going the extra mile. Thank you to everyone who has made this a special two months for me personally. New friends, new adventures and the opportunity to learn. Thank you to RX and Subash Sir for providing me with the opportunity to come share my knowledge and provide a different perspective on coaching, cricket and life. India is a country I have a lot of affection for and it holds a special place in my heart. I wish you all the best for the year ahead.
